Re: Replacement for Adrian
just seen apparently the club want both Trott and Anang to go out

Martin signing makes sense now

3rd choice, another home grown player added to the squad. Allows Trott to go out on loan.

Makes sense

Re: Replacement for Adrian
Not an odd signing at all, most clubs have 3 keepers.

Re: Replacement for Adrian
Presumably Trott will go out on loan somewhere to toughen him up

Re: Replacement for Adrian

Re: Replacement for Adrian
West Ham United are pleased to confirm the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Roberto on a free transfer.

The experienced 33-year-old will join the Hammers on 1 July, after his contract with La Liga club Espanyol expires, on a two-year deal with the Club having the option for a further 12 months.

Yeah but Rossal, you think Ogbonna is good :)

Re: Replacement for Adrian
Opinions indeed. I'm not saying the lad is great, but I've always preferred keepers to be solid over 'look at me' shot stoppers.

It's why I think Fabianski is one of the best keepers in the world, because he does the basics as good, if not better, than any keeper lacing gloves up at the moment. He also happens to be a superb shot stopper, but at the fundamentals he is up there with the very best.

Fair enough, all about opinions ay

Give him a chance only got released a few days ago!

Re: Replacement for Adrian
Championship.

I don't think there will be a great deal between them. Adrian is an average keeper, he kept getting dropped, brought back, dropped again. Mistake ridden, poor commanding his area, not solid, but a great shot stopper.

Someone on half the wages, who's more solid than a shot stopper, is home grown, I don't think it's something worth having a meltdown over that he'll be coming in.

I notice there has not been a plethora of teams getting the cheque book out for GLOVES OFF?

Re: Replacement for Adrian
So you think a league 1 keeper is better then Adrian? .....

Eerie Descent 10:27 Fri May 31
Re: Replacement for Adrian
You've called him a shit keeper because of 1 mistake?

And we're worried that he can't replace Adrian?

LOL

Rossal 10:20 Fri May 31
Re: Replacement for Adrian
And i dont think we need a 3rd choice. Rather put the money spent on a 3rd towards a decent 2nd choice.

We havent had a 3rd choice for years and it hasnt done us any harm

Rossal 10:17 Fri May 31
Re: Replacement for Adrian
To be fair i watched him for a full game once (one out of the 15 in the last 2 seasons) .....he threw the ball in the net

Eerie Descent 10:03 Fri May 31
Re: Replacement for Adrian
He's coming in as 3rd choice.

And I will listed to someone who has watched him regularly over someone who has never seen him play a full game, thanks.

He's 33 years old and spent most his time in league 1. Clearly no where near premier league level but you listen to your mate.

Im not saying spend big money, and youve no idea how much these keepers would cost. Im saying we need a proper goalkeeper as a no2 incase Fab gets injured. Not some shithouse from League 1.

Dragowski...looks right for WHUFC...
Fabianski Understudy...role model...Polish...etc...

Re: Replacement for Adrian
Etheridge is probably going to cost £10mil - £15mil, and fairly hefty wages, why on earth would we spend that on a back up?

Funny thing is, had we tried to sign him last summer, everyone would be wondering why we were going for an average Championship keeper who's nearly 30.
